Privacy Policy

Kadhaishorts ("we", "our", "us") operates the Kadhaishorts mobile application and this website (kadhaishorts.com). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

  • Account data: the phone number or email you sign in with, or the account details shared by the sign-in provider you choose (Google, Apple or Facebook) — see Google Sign-In below.
  • Profile data: your name, profile photo, date of birth and gender. You can add or change these in the app, and date of birth and gender are always optional.
  • Usage data: anonymised interaction events used to improve the app (see Third-party services below).
  • Device data: device model, OS version, app version, language — used for debugging and to deliver the right build.
  • Purchase data: in-app purchases are processed by the platform store (Apple / Google) and we receive only the receipt needed to unlock content. Payments made through Razorpay, including UPI, are processed by Razorpay, which receives your name, phone number and email address to take the payment.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information to provide the service, authenticate your identity, process in-app purchases, and improve the product. We use your date of birth and gender to personalise recommendations and to understand our audience in aggregate. We do not sell your personal information.

Google Sign-In and Google User Data

If you sign in with Google, we receive the following from your Google account:

  • Always: your Google account ID, name, email address and profile photo URL.
  • Only if you allow it: your birthday andgender. Google asks for your permission separately on its own consent screen, and you can decline without affecting your sign-in.

How we use it.

  • Your Google account ID and email sign you in and keep your account linked to Google.
  • Your name and photo set up your profile.
  • Your birthday and gender are used only to pre-fill the date of birth and gender questions in the app. Nothing is saved to your profile until you confirm it, and you can change or clear it before you do.
  • Once confirmed, your date of birth and gender are used as described inHow We Use Your Information above.

How we store it.

  • Your Google account data is stored on our servers, encrypted in transit.
  • The access token that lets us read your birthday and gender is used once, at sign-in. We never store it and never use it for anything else.

Sharing.

  • We do not sell Google user data.
  • We do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers, and we do not use it to serve ads, including retargeting and personalised or interest-based ads.
  • We share it only with the service providers listed underThird-party services, only to operate and improve the app, and only where the law requires it.

Your control.

  • You can remove Kadhaishorts' access at any time from your Google account atmyaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • You can edit or clear your profile data in the app, or delete your account as described below.

Kadhaishorts' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third-party Services

We share personal data with the following service providers, only to run and improve the app and website:

  • Microsoft Azure — hosts our servers, database and file storage.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play (app) — take in-app payments.
  • Razorpay — takes payments made outside the app stores, including UPI.
  • Message Central, MSG91 and Twilio — send SMS messages, including sign-in codes. Receive your phone number.
  • ZeptoMail (Zoho) — sends emails, including sign-in codes. Receives your email address and name.
  • Meta (Facebook) App Events (app) — measures how well our ads work. On iOS, ad tracking is used only if you allow it.
  • IPinfo — works out your country from your IP address.
  • Google Analytics (website) — aggregate traffic analytics.
  • PostHog (app + website) — product analytics. We do not record sessions.
  • Mixpanel (app) — product analytics. Receives your age (derived from your date of birth) and gender.
  • CleverTap (app) — in-app messages, push, email and WhatsApp messages you've opted into. Receives your name, contact details, date of birth and age.
  • AppsFlyer (app) — install attribution and deep links.
  • Firebase / Google Analytics (app) — app analytics.
  • Sentry (app) — crash and error reporting. Receives your account ID, email address and name with the error.
  • Google, Apple and Facebook Sign-In (app) — sign in with an existing account.
  • RevenueCat (app) — manages in-app purchase entitlements.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging / Expo Push (app) — delivers push notifications you've opted into.
  • Cloudflare Stream / Bunny CDN (app) — video delivery.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not give your name, phone number or email address to advertisers.

Cookies & Local Storage

This website uses local storage to remember your selected language and uses cookies set by Google Analytics and PostHog for analytics. You can block these via your browser settings without losing core site functionality.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account from the Settings screen in the app. Deleted accounts have a 6-month recovery window — logging back in during this period will restore your account. After 6 months, your data is permanently deleted.

If you cannot access the app, contactsupport@kadhaishorts.comwith the phone number or email on your account.

Children

Kadhaishorts is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us to request deletion.

Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:

  • Access: get a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we use it for, and who we have shared it with.
  • Correction and erasure: ask us to correct, complete, update or erase your personal data.
  • Nominate: name someone to use these rights for you if you are unable to.
  • Complain: raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.

How to ask.

  • Your data summary: in the app, go to Settings and tapDownload my data. The file lists your data, what each part is used for, and every service provider it is shared with.
  • Delete your account: from Settings in the app, as described in Account Deletion.
  • Anything else, or if you cannot use the app: emailsupport@kadhaishorts.com.

To find your account we need the phone number or email address you sign in with. We reply within 30 days, and always within the 90 days the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 allow.

Grievance Redressal

For questions about how we process your personal data, and for complaints under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, contact our Grievance Officer atsupport@kadhaishorts.com. We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.

Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this policy. Continued use of the app or website after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified in-app or on this page.
